REFIT HISTORY
Stoic is a nice little boat ready to sail away and go anywhere in the Mediterranean region. Under its engines with 1300 rpm she makes 8.5 knots over water easily. Currently berthed in Ören Marina, in the heart of the world famous Gökova Bay, she has a contract until mid August, 2024 to berth there but it can be extended. When I bought the boat she was flying a Republic of Ireland flag so her VAT is paid. She was rather neglected due to the age of her owners, a syndicate of Irish dentists who were not able to come to Kusadası as frequently as they wished. Just before the pandemic I bought her and with a few hitches I sailed the boat to Yalova from Kusadasi for her refit. Because of 5 years of non usage, proper care had not been given and with a serious dose of TLC, she became fit again.

Flybridge port side needed fixing because accumulated rain water over the years had damaged the plywood wall. The hull needed a small piece of mahogany (over the water line) replaced. I chose to use good quality synthetic oil paint for the hull and cabin walls. Interior carpentry is teak and I used Epifanes Satin varnish for the nice glow. For the intricate parquetry, a water based and tough Satin Hemel varnish. Teak deck was checked and found that it still had a thickness of 18 mm after so many years and I decided to remove the screws and rescrew them with epoxy again, it worked. The front cabin gained a teak hatch during the refit. All the windows have gone through a check-up and after finding that some of them were leaking new timber frames were built with new glasses. All electricals are changed, cables and outlets, a new 220 V circuit was designed and fitted with Siemens fuse box. She has Victron Multiplus 12/3000 Inverter/Charger, Cerbo GX Communications Center with internet and bluetooth connectivity that allows the user remotely follow the state of the electricals in the boat. Additionally there is a back up investor 12/4000 . Domestic battery bank is 600 amps Mutlu acid batteries, engines and generator have separate batteries.
Water system is reneved and a drinking water filter in installed although that water is used in the galley for daily usage. There is a portable water filter that I use while I fill the tanks from unknown sources, allowing me to have twice filtered water on board for usage including shower, etc. An additional 90 lt drinking water tank with a pump by Nuova Rade was installed. Black water system is updated with new pumps and electrical TMC toilets. Engines were deemed to be in good condition and sailed from Kusadasi to Yalova but a later inspection showed that starboard engine needed rebuilding. It was taken out of the boat and after a couple of weeks it came back as a new engine. Port engine had gone through refurbishing as well. They are in great working condition. These engines are work horses, without any electronics they can be maintained and fixed by any self respecting mechanic. Engine room was refurbished and painted. It has huge space. As of now she has two empty 316 SS fuel tanks, they can be used for additional fuel or converted to biger grey water/black water tanks. All steel onboard is 316 quality meaning no rust under any circumstances. All material used is either CE or Turkish TSE standart, meaning good quality.
